Are ‘job-huggers’ holding your business back?
Recent insights from the Federation of Small Businesses highlight one of the defining issues of 2026 is job-hugging.
Job huggers are employees who have mentally checked out but are staying put for financial security only.
Is disengagement quietly draining your company’s productivity?
If you have identified such individuals in your workplace, Mint HR can help you find a solution that’s best for both them and your business – ensuring your productivity and team morale stays on the up.
2026 is a good time to get on top of this before the rights for unfair dismissal widen in 2027. Click ‘Contact Mint HR’ below if you need to discuss.
Workplace conflict hits record levels
44% of Brits experienced conflict at work last year, according to recent ACAS survey.
Conflict is defined as disagreements, disputes or difficult relationships with a colleague, manager customer or member of the public.
The most common topic of conflict was over capability and performance (38%). Over half of people who reported conflict experienced stress, anxiety or depression as a result.
This highlights the importance of informal resolution methods.
At Mint HR, we’re fans of trying to resolve matters informally if possible. We regularly support clients with workplace disputes – providing guidance and mediation where required.
We also deliver conflict resolution training for managers. Click the ‘Contact Mint HR’ button below to find out more.
*The ACAS survey took place over August to September 2025, and was completed by 4,558 respondents
Redundancy plans on the increase
Redundancy plans continue to increase among UK employers.
The main reason being the cost pressures from the National Insurance and National Minimum Wage increases.
Mint HR is aware some businesses are getting round financial pressures by offering reduced hours to their team. This and redundancy itself are processes that require correct procedures and compliance as the cost of doing them incorrectly will outweigh what you’ve saved.
